Alameda Blaze Fastpitch is the AGSA competitive tournament softball program.  Teams are selected through tryouts by the managers for the 8U, 10U and 12U age divisions.  Blaze tournament teams provide opportunities for competitive play and advanced skill development during the spring, summer and fall seasons.  Blaze tryout dates are announced on the AGSA homepage, Facebook page and Instagram.  If you are interested in joining Blaze or have questions about the program please contact us.

Blaze would like to thank our AMAZING sponsors! Click here to see the generous businesses and individuals who support Blaze!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Here at Alameda Girls Softball Association + Blaze Fastpitch we believe in the tenets of The Positive Coach Alliance, and the power of youth sports and the wonderful impact it has on children as they grow - in all aspects of life. When our 'emotional tanks' are full we are able to feel safe in mistakes made and learn long lasting positive habits of resiliency, recovery, and determination. Check out the Power Of Positive at the PCA and head to our Coach and Parent Corners to learn more about how we can all take part in filling emotional tanks!

MORE ABOUT TRAVEL SOFTBALL

Traveling softball is known to have a higher level of competitiveness than recreational softball. A lot of players considering to make the jump to traveling ball should be made aware of the following:

  • Traveling ball is significantly more expensive than recreational. It can incur costs from higher level coaching, more practice time, and travel expenses.
  • There is no guarantee of playing time. The best players play.
  • There is an increased chance for high-level development.
  • You will be required to try out and will be placed on a team according to ability.
  • Rules are generally more closely related to high school or college softball.
